Gypsies are actually just Humans. Humans who are horribly and irreparably cursed. Nobody truly knows how the Gypsies came to be cursed but the common lore maintained by The Order of the Right Hand of Gebelizes is that a community of Nature Solomonari discovered ancient Necromantic secrets and used them to assault the power of the Great Spirit of the Moon. The Great spirit responded by Binding their evil magic within them. This turned them into wild, feral beasts.
Gypsies are now called ‘Outlaws, forfeit of the Protection of The King’s Law’, meaning that they are not legal citizens. The curse has the ability to drive others, especially Humans, violently insane. The curse is also believed to be tied directly with Necromancy. As the popular Order saying goes, ‘Not all Necromancers are Gypsies, but all Gypsies are surely Necromancers’. There are no verifiable cases of powerful Gypsy Necromancers however. Gypsies do not boast any inherent connection to necromancy, and they are the most powerful Nature casters next to Nature Zhana.
Although Gypsies can do anything that Humans do, they are usually drawn to the outdoors and often find work as hunters, scouts, and guides. Gypsies are often found in deep forests, especially Eredeti. Gypsies are also found near much of the untamed wilderness of Mordavia. Gypsies have no racial animosity, but they detest The Order of the Right hand of Gebelizes. More than a few Gypsies have been correctly labeled as ‘natural anarchists’. In the end Humans and Gypsies are not very dissimilar…at least until the Curse makes itself known.
